Birthdays , birthdays , and MORE birthdays.

Nelson celebrated his 19th birthday at his uncle’s restaurant in Mont Kiara. Yeah , that same place we went to before Sunburst. Trina and I met up earlier to get Nelson’s gift. We ended up getting him this Buddha thing . So “zen” .

It's supposed to calm you down. Zen *bows*

Dinner was pretty yummy. Trina and I had sausages , or “weiners” as Trina likes calling them. And the rest..had pasta and some other stuff. See for yourself ;

Other candids & not so candids taken that night :

L-R : Jade,Me,Trina,Nelson,Shiresh,Aaron,Tatt Ho,Daryl.

After dinner was over , Nelson tried starting his car..and it wouldn’t start. So he tried again . Still wouldn’t start. Nelson’s uncle came out and tried starting it. They opened the front hood and tried to see if anything was lose/leaking blah blah. We waited for about an hour / an hour & a half maybe then Nelson’s parents came and gave Trina , Jade and I a ride home along with Nelson. They left his car there unfortunately, but it was all fixed up first thing in the morning! I hope you liked your present Nelson (:

Oh , Happy 17th Birthday Jia Yin (:

Saturday

Went for the
Euphoria Charity Concert thing. I thought it was quite..boring overall. But there were some interesting parts . I personally liked the girl who played guitar and sang “ the sweetest girl” . she was really goood with her guitar.
And as usual , there were a few dances and all that. I think the SriKDU girls were pretty good. And I liked that..masked dance thing. Dude with the vest, whoa . Bands were okay too I guess.Quite a lot of people attended ECC. Bumped into a few old DJ friends . No , i didn;t take any pictures.

Alison and I had to leave early to go for Dinesh’s birthday dinner. We waited pretty long for a certain Adrian to walk to my place. Dinner was pretty goood. The wine made Markyboi turn insanely tomato red. After ONE glass :p It was so adorable how red he turned . Dinesh kept insisting he was “drunk” because he misheard a few things . Poor boy.

After the surprise birthday cakes from Coffee Bean , we made a decision to go to the Curve to watch a movie. Louis and Kassandra left while the rest of us waited nearly an hour/ hour half maybe for a cab .

We bumped into some weird drunk, possibly mental Singh dude , who told Adrian to shut up (
I don’t know why ) and said something to Chaming about taking pictures.. So yeh . He kept talking to himself and mumbling really odd things =.=“

After FINALLY getting two cabs to transport the seven of us , we bought our movie tickets . “ The Deadly Ghost” was the chosen movie. Dinesh wanted a horror movie, so yeah . As soon as it was 12am. The boys gave Dinesh a birthday"bash".

Marcus seems to be really into the whole kicking Dinesh thing :P Haha.

The movie was..very bad.We left 20 minutes into the movie. Yeap , that bad. We loitered around a little bit and then went back to DJ. While we were outside my house , Adrian and Marcus started throwing a bottle attempting to play rugby.

Which looked pretty fun , so Alison and I joined it. High flying bottles scare me. After Dinesh,Marcus and Kamun left, we went to wake Adrian’s poor maid up to open the gate. Hung out at his place for a few hours until Ali-anak left. Got home around 2/3am ish. That about sums up the weekend. I’m still tired from yesterday.

I need to study : ( So..this will be my last post till after my exams. Cuz I won’t be going out / having a social life by choice. So bye forever ( oh the melodrama). Ok no ,bye for the time being .

Happy..April ya`ll.

Momentary Recognition # 2.

So, as Trina mentioned in the earlier post, we're starting these series of ..posts called " Momentary Recognition". Stuff we like/dont like/recommendations . Standard stuff .

I , personally would never blog about music because..i'm absolutely horrible that way. But , i will blog about Malaysian Music because you people are waaay to judgmental and ignorant towards the really good talent we have . ( yes , here in Malaysia).

But not today. I'm going to blog about THINKING GREEN. It's important la. Seriously.

"We didn’t inherit the Earth from our parents. We are borrowing it from our children"

So yeah , WHY should you care about the earth? I used to think it wasn’t my responsibility, nor was it my concern . Boy was I wrong. I was watching Oprah one fateful day , and it was the “ Going Green” episode. They showed a video of this polar bear that dug a hole for itself to die in because their habitats are under increasing threat as a consequence of the dramatic thinning of the Arctic sea ice.

I cried for about 2 days( I really like polar bears you see ) and decided I’m not going to mope around and NOT do anything. Why is recycling important ? So people don't waste so many resources that one day we might not have any more if we keep using so many of them.

It’s absolutely stupid to NOT want to preserve the earth. For yourself , for your children and their children. It doesn’t take a lot . No one is forcing you to buy a Hybrid ( which costs a bloody bomb here btw ) or build an eco-friendly house. Baby steps people, baby steps.

All it takes is for each of us to do our part. It can be as simple as recycling or changing a light bulb. Or using your car less and walking or cycling more. No matter what you do, when you reduce carbon emissions, you are making a big difference in the health of our planet.

I , personally have stopped leaving the A/C on when I leave my house , and I’ve started collecting glass bottles/papers/tin cans to recycle. I have a couple of energy-saving bulbs too. ( Thank you parents :D )

So..how do YOU help ?

1. Stop wasting water. When you brush your teeth/wash dishes don’t leave the water running!

2. Try not to use plastic bags so much . I know it’s kinda inconvenient to carry around a bunch of eco-friendly bags . But..try minimizing the use of plastic bags.

3. Bring your own containers instead of “tapao-ing” with Styrofoam containers.

4. RECYLE , RECYLE , RECYLE. ( newspapers/papers/aluminum cans/glass bottles)

- You can send recyclables to a disabled home in SS2, PJ. They collect recyclables to sell in order to earn money to run the home. There's a drop in box at their centre :

Lovely Disabled Home No 1, Jalan SS 2/5, (opposite Taman Bahagia LRT station) 47300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. Contact :78739622

2. MPPJ Carpark,Jalan 10/7, Off Jalan Gasing, PJ. Saturdays and Sundays 5:30 pm to 7 pm ( you get paid for recycling here! )

There’s not many pictures or any visuals to “ attract” you to read. So yeah , whatever . This may be a joke / waste of time to many of you , so your loss (: No one`s forcing you as i said.

Nicole Shin watched the exact same Oprah ep sometime last year ( fckin Astro , repeats everything ). She blogged about it too (: CLICK HERE TO READ.

Momentary Recognition #1

Since Rhema & I don't have much to blog about anymore.

We thought we'd recommend some stuff to you guys.
Whatever that's of our interest.
Bear in mind that these are simply recommendations.
Everyone has their own taste and own opinions
& if we don't share the same interest,it's fine by us.
* With the exception of Fergie

So here goes.
_________________

I recently came across this band in myspace.Formerly known as Goodbye tomorrow,Alive in Wild Paint truly is worthy of being recognized. The instruments are all carefully delivered to pull the heartstrings;complimented with Travis Bryant's voice. With that, you have wave of songs that compels you to hit the replay button and have haunting lyrics like "I'll share your ghost tonight" stuck in your head.
It's just entirely beautiful and it could leave you in a daze.Personally, the gems from the album would be "Ceilings","Cold Spell" & my personal favorite,"A Vespertine Haunting".

This undeniably brilliant band deserves the recognition. So take the time to get acquainted.Trust me,you wouldn't want to miss this one.

Loves.
